My student..oh my students..

I am teaching remove class this year. i teach an art subject. There are only ten students in the class. After teaching them for 3 months, i notice that every student in the class has different characters. But, now I'm called to tell you about a chinese boy. his name is Tan Meng Hong.He is a short and the fattest boy in the class. He has plump cheeks and a pair of small eyes. His behaviour is so unpredictable. Sometimes, he is so talkative and sometimes he is so quiet. He has 4 siblings and I have taught two of his brothers 3 years ago.( Only Allah knows how naughty his brother were!) Emmm...I'm so grateful that he is the youngest in the family.

He has annoyed habit which is he likes to bend and bite his fingernails(right and left hands). I am informed by his friends that he will do so if he feels so mad to anybody. I can see marks of his bite.It is so irritating and annoying. I have asked him to stop biting his fingernails but he juts out his tongue to me. I ask him to behave.( be patience.. I coax myself). What an impolite student! The other bad habit of his is he just blows his flu up on his school uniform. His uniform is never ironed. As a result, he looks so untidy and messy.

After recess, he will enter the class 5 minutes late. He sweats heavily as his shirt obviously wet. Without wearing inner shirts, he looks terrible and smell extremely bad. I want to vommit...Wuheeek!!!!.I don't mean to insult him but i couldn't stand of his smell so i him to stay away from me. I had a total headache. Maybe, i need to take my air freshner and sprinkle it on him next time.

One day, i asked him to sweep the floor. I spoke as nicely as possible.." Meng Hong, could you please sweep the floor of your class? Your class is so dirty and rubbish is eveywhere. Perhaps you can lend you hand by sweeping and picking the rubbish up".I asked. He abruptly stood up. He walked straight to the back of the class and took a broom. What an unexpectable action! He twisted the broom as he was singing a chinese song. Dust was spreading in the class. I had a cough. He was laughing satisfyingly. I stared at him seriously. He nodded and started lifting the chairs up and swept the floor outstandingly. I praised him for his kindness.

One of his hobby is watching the beautiful teachers or the cute girl students. He keeps calling the practical teachers ( all the teachers are bachelor) when they pass by his class. Without thinking long, he would go out and follow them just to say 'hi'. He never asks my permission from me to go out at all. All his friends would tease him by laughing and mocking. He doesn't bother what other students say about him. As long as he is happy, nobody can stop him from doing anything.

Last week, there were two girls who came into my class. They brought a container with them. They were asking my permission to collect donation. The money would be given to the unfortunete students. He was the first to stand up. He took out RM1 from his wallet and gave the money away. Emm..he was quite generous. I whispered to myself. I hope he will be more matured and more loving and caring of himself.

THE BIG WAVE " TSUNAMI"...

It was Friday morning. I arrived at 7.30am at the school. It was 10 minutes late than usual ( my daughter wanted to go to the toilet at the last minute to send her to my mom’s home). I read the note beside the punch-card machine… “ taklimat guru at dataran Tun Abdul Razak”. I wondered why teacher’s meeting would be held at Dataran Tun Abdul Razak? The teacher’s meeting should be held at the Meeting Room. After the students were dismissed from the assembly and went to their class, the teachers gathered.
The principal greeted all the teachers. Then, he started to tell us the main purpose why he asked us to gather. Jabatan Pelajaran Selangor wanted to make redeployment to all the teachers throughout Selangor. JPNS obtained information that there were some districts have overloaded with teachers. The districts were Sabak Bernam, Hulu Selangor and Hulu Langat. There were 9 excessive number ofteachers at Munshi Abdullah. So, all these teacher need to be transferred to other school in the OTHER DISTRICTS. Oh Allah, why my heart was pounding so quickly…I was automatically panicked and nervous. Was I the one would be transferred?? My mind suddenly blanked and speechless..
Mr Principal told us, this opportunity was opened to the teacher who were willing to move to other schools in other districts such as Klang, Petaling, Kuala Selangor.. Those were in city areas. Secondly, those applied to move from this school had high potential to be transferred. Thirdly, the best candidates who would be transferred were the bachelor teachers. Everyone kept quiet and the time froze for a few seconds…the last but not least, his statement really terrified me..Or ANYBODY THAT HE THOUGHT SHOULD BE TRANSFERRED INCLUDING MARRIED TEACHERS. My knees were shivering.
Those who interested in this opportunity could see and offered themselves to the principal by 9am. We had only an hour to decide. But, I didn’t see it as a golden opportunity but it was like a big disaster overwhelmed this school. It was hard for everybody to make a decision especially for US( my hubby and I) who were born here.
Since then, all the teachers were disturbed by the meeting. There are so many speculations and everybody made their own assumptions who were going to be transferred. I hear so many rumors. Which one is right? I am not sure. To be honest, I’m not thinking about other people’s destiny..i keep thinking of my fate..Oh Allah..Undeniably, you knew what is better for us. But the problem was, could I accept the reality ? Oh Allah.. give me chance to take care of my parents and do some good things to them by staying in Sg Air Tawar ..i want to pay off their deeds towards me..amin
